Agrochemical Majors, Biopharma And Generic Drug Manufacturers

A process plant does not fail gracefully into a support ticket the way an office network does. A batch run or a continuous process depends on the network staying up, the control room staying legible, and the boundary between plant and IT staying exactly where it was designed. We have spent twenty-eight years building the networks, control rooms and security behind Indian process industry, designed around that constraint before anything else.

Zone the plant before an incident forces the boundary. Isolating the wrong node on a live process is not a safe default the way it is in IT. We zone and monitor first and enforce later, and we design the boundary between plant floor and corporate network as its own space rather than a firewall rule added afterward.

Commissioned into a live change-control calendar, not around it. New capacity is arriving quickly, much of it backed by production-linked incentives and orders global pharma and agrochemical buyers are moving out of China, and every one of those lines still goes live inside the plant's own validation and change-control process, not IT's schedule. We plan the network and control-room build around that calendar, and document the change the way the plant already has to document everything else.

Specify to the area, not to a generic industrial rating. Networking and AV equipment on a chemical or pharmaceutical site has to survive the classification of the area it sits in, not just heat, dust and vibration. We specify to the zone the equipment actually occupies.

Know what talks to what before an audit asks. Most process plants do not have a current list of what is connected and what depends on it. Patch sequencing, response plans and segmentation all wait on that list. We build it first.

Run the control room the process is actually watched from. An operator acknowledging alarms without reading them is responding rationally to a design fault, not a training gap. We rationalise the alarm list and lay out the console to the sightlines and reach of the seated position, so what reaches the operator is what actually needs watching.

Arrange for SECCOM to build the asset and dependency list for one process line or plant, at no cost.
