A green backup report says a job ran. It does not say your top ten services come back in order, from copies an attacker could not reach.
A backup that completed is not a restore that works.
A green backup report tells you a job ran. It does not tell you whether the copies are reachable by the same credentials an attacker would hold. It does not tell you whether your top ten business services can come back in the right order, or how long that would actually take with your people on a Sunday.
Commvault and Veeam sit behind most of those green reports. Nutanix and VMware sit behind the platform they protect. SECCOM tests what that stack can actually restore, beyond whether the job ran.
