Data Loss Prevention (DLP)
DLP rarely fails on detection. It fails on the exception path. SECCOM designs the classification, the data flow and the release route people will actually use.
You cannot protect data you cannot find.
DLP programmes stall in the same place: nobody agreed what was sensitive before the tooling started enforcing it. The DPDP Act 2023 made that argument urgent without settling it, because the Act names the obligation and your business names the data. The second failure comes a month later, when a control blocks something legitimate and there is no exception process to release it.
