City System Integration for ICCC Programmes

Most integrated command and control centres go live with four systems connected and a plan to add the rest later.

The video wall is rarely the problem. What stalls is the department system with no interface: the one holding its data in a database somebody maintains locally and exports as a nightly file. Whether the programme is funded under the Smart Cities Mission, a Safe City scheme or the corporation's own budget, that is the item that decides the go-live date. Until it is settled, the centre displays a subset of the city and the operators learn to work around it.
