"Rugged" is not a specification. A drop height, an IP rating and a temperature range are.

Every device sold into a plant, a yard or a field site claims to survive the place. Only some of the datasheets publish the test method, the height, the surface and the number of drops. If the datasheet does not carry those, the device has not been compared with anything. It has been described.

Where SECCOM stops. Where a device has no published test result, SECCOM says so and does not call it rugged. SECCOM quotes the OEM's tested standards. SECCOM does not certify a device itself.
