Public Transit Vehicle Tracking (VTS)

Most fleets already carry a tracking unit. What they do not have is an arrival time anybody trusts.

The VTS unit reports a position every thirty seconds. Turning that into a usable prediction needs the schedule, the route geometry, the stop list and the dwell behaviour of that particular corridor, and it needs the prediction measured against what actually happened, week after week.

Where SECCOM stops. Schedules, route design and fleet deployment stay with the transport undertaking. SECCOM instruments what the undertaking runs and publishes the feed.
